Sept 4, 2021 - "Garden Party" opening at the McMillan Centre in the Nemeth Gallery. It will be running until Sept.26th. The hours are from 11:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. Tuesday until Sunday.
Sept 11, 2021 - Book launch in Vancouver for the 2nd edition of ihastings literary magazine. There are 10 featured writers including myself. Featured is my short story, "December 1940".

The Signature Showcase begins at the VI Conference Centre on Oct. 4 - Dec. 6. I will be showing a watercolor titled "Stamp Ave."
I will be showing at Echo Centre in Port Alberni from Sept. 15, 2018 - Sept. 29th. This show is the beginning of a new series entitled "Lovely Old Bones." The works are done in charcoal and graphite.

I have three paintings in this show, one "Inside, Outside, Upside Down" in the invitational show and two paintings, "Winter Solstice" and "Costa Rica" in the juried show. It should be a great show with lots of wonderful paintings by some very good artists!

Hornby Island Retreat Some members of the Arrowsmith Chapter of the FCA enjoyed four days of plein air painting and generally getting to know each other in a fabulous setting on Hornby Island May 15th-18th.

ART IN THE PARK Join me for Art in the Park, a 2-day event showcasing talented local artists and artisans. The event is set amongst the beautiful backdrop of the gardens of Parksville's Community Park. The event takes place on Saturday & Sunday, July 18/19, 2015 10:00 am-4:00 pm. This event is in conjunction with the Sand Sculpting competition and exhibition in Parksville, BC.
NAUTICAL DAYS I will be at Nautical Days, August 1-3, 2015 on the BC Day long weekend in Comox BC. It features artisans, great food and lively entertainment for all ages on the beautiful marina waterfront. I will have my two books, plus paintings and cards for sale. The weekend highlights include the Bullhead Derby, Canoe Jousting, Dragon Boat Races, Build, Bail & Sail, the Ceremony of the Flags, food, crafts and fireworks. Hope to see you there. ORIGINALS ONLY SHOW AND SALE. I will be there at the summer show in Comox, August 8th & 9th at the Marina Park, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Saturday & Sunday). About the Originals Only show and sale- It was created as an opportunity for visual artists working at all levels to learn from each other and provide them with a venue so that they can showcase their work. It was also designed to provide the general public with an opportunity to learn more about the creative process, styles of art and meet face to face with the artists. PAINTINGS BY NUMBERS As a signature member, I will be donating a painting to the Federation of Canadian Artists annual fundraiser, "Paintings by Number". This event is one of excitement and artistic excellence. Ticket holders are allocated a number upon arrival to the venue where there is an exhibition of all of the donated artworks. As the night progresses, numbers are drawn at random and the ticket holder who's number is called gets to select an artwork from the exhibition to take home to add to their art collection. Numbers are drawn until every artwork has a new home. This event takes place on Friday, Oct 2nd, 2015, 6:00 pm-10:00 pm. at the Performance Works, 1218 Cartwright Street, Vancouver, BC (Granville Island). The tickets are $800 and that includes entry for two people, an exhibition dossier, two complimentary beverages (one per person) and a selection of hot and cold hors d'oeuvres as well as one original artwork by a respected Canadian artist. Pieces range from $1000 to $5000 in value. The tickets are now available for sale. Tickets are only available by advance purchase. The proceeds from Paintings by Numbers go a long way to supporting the FCA's goals and programs. |
