Lily of the Valley

I was pleased this morning to see the delicate "Lily of the Valley" blooms.    They seem to love it beneath a giant cedar tree.  The plant was given to me a few years ago by a very dear friend, Ann, who has now passed away.  I wrote a poem a few years ago about the flower and will share it with you.
..."A Walk Through the Garden and I am reminded of Ann....
The spring maiden wears patterns of light mixed with rain.
Warmed soil gently nudges rich growth once again.
A dress stitched in yellows, greens, purples and reds,
a peacock camelia flaunting her rosy pink head.
And there almost hidden on the dark forest floor
are clustered white pearls wrapped in soft green velour.
Lilies of the valley shine quiet and sure.
They stir memories of Ann.
